I started my fitness journey as an instructor last January. I became licensed in Zumba and then about two months later in March I got an opportunity to go to the training for MixxedFit. Since I’ve took the training my journey has gone through multiple waves where I’ve taken classes and started teaching classes. I was inspired to start MixxedFit because I have Lupus, an autoimmune disease and I wanted to inspire others that you can do anything no matter your circumstances. Going into this journey, I wanted to inspire other people. I’m also a fifth-grade teacher for a Montgomery County Private School, where I teach Zumba to my students after school. My goal as a fitness professional is to put myself out there and inspire others through my fitness journey and staying health and being active in the community.
In MixxedFit, the moves are very repetitive and easy to follow. We also add that boot camp element where we do jumping jacks and squats and we’re very explosive with our movements. You’re using all that you got during the sound track, to go all out and be explosive. MixxedFit is a growing company we just turned five this year, but just from my experience over the past year and a half it has taken off. This past June I got accepted into the National Trainer Academy for MixxedFit, so as a National Trainer I will be able to host workshops for people who want to become instructors like me. I never expected to get into this leadership position, it’s something that’s part of my journey and hopefully I can inspire others to become future national trainers and leaders.
